Saved Seeds

And as Isaiah said before: “Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, We would have become like Sodom, And we would have been made like Gomorrah.” As it is written: “Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”” Romans‬ ‭9‬:‭29‬, ‭33‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The story of redemption for the people of Israel in the Old Testament is synonymous to the salvation experience of the New Testament’s believers in Jesus Christ. The saved seeds are the remnants who believed in the Lord’s sacrifice on the cross for salvation from dead works and justification by faith in the finished works of grace. Although the provision is finished and dusted, our response to the provision is still voluntary and personal: Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame”. The primary benefit of the saved seeds is that they are the planting of the Lord; and they cannot be uprooted by the schemes of the enemy. Just like Adolf Hitler did his worst and failed, New Testament saints, who are planted in the household of faith and for His service by grace, can go to sleep with assurance in the Lord’s promises for their preservation. Unfortunately, saved seeds today are getting carried  away with faithless responses to the threats of shame, instead of holding unto their confidence in the promises from the Lord of Sabaoth.
