Unlimited Understanding
“Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:23-24 NKJV
An isolated use of wisdom, position, and material strength is always good and rewardable, as long as it provides the basis for peace, love, justice, and righteousness. Unfortunately, the deficiencies in human capabilities represent our inability to guarantee a consistently good use of these resources without the grace of God. Sometimes, it is more frustrating for a mortal man to accept the reality of his deficiencies, especially when his confidence in the use of his natural endowment is generally commendable. But the reality remains the solemn fact that “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches”. When a humble man accepts his limited understanding as he approaches the throne of grace, he receives additional grace to utilize his endowment better for the glory of God and the administration of peace, love, justice, and righteousness amidst the people within his sphere of influence. Even when we err on the basis of our limited understanding in life, our knowledge of the unlimited God can provide the needed delights and correction.
