Wholesome Wellness

““Shall you reign because you enclose yourself in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink, And do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him. He judged the cause of the poor and needy; Then it was well. Was not this knowing Me?” says the LORD.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭22:15-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/jer.22.15-16.nkjv
When the scriptures ascribed little profit to bodily exercise and fitness, it merely underscores the tendency for a mis-placement of priority in human pursuit of wellness. A focus on the physical wellness of personal prosperity often has much more than human resources in life can handle. For example, the drive for career security, economic stability, and family independence represents a sufficient battle of the fittest in life. Whereas, those who have succeeded with reasonable level of fit would readily attest to the experience of wayward wellness in personal prosperity. Unfortunately like the king of Judah, many are bereft of an appropriate response to the life question “shall you reign because you enclose yourself in cedar?”. The true relevance of any career security, economic stability, and family independence is the trusted response of the lives of others to the sense of own personal existence. Anyone can own the instrument for a measure of wayward wellness in life; but only the divinely assigned neighbours within the space of human existence may truly measure the state of an wholesome wellness. Obviously, wholesome wellness is more than knowing self and making self comfortable; it is knowing God and making Him known to others in the pursuit of wellness.
