Divine Deliverance
“And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.””
Acts 12:11 NKJV

The havoc from the devil's deceptive dominance, when men slept off from their confidence in God, is more than the apparent loss of physical property, privileges and positions. Deceptive dominance subjects the soul into the captivity of hopelessness and subtle submission to the will of the devil. For the early church, deceptive dominance through king Herod's political will appeared a typical example of the consequences of spiritual slumbering. Even when religious services continue at home or in the church, spiritual slumbering brings faithlessness, fears, and fruitless efforts. But after the fellowship of James with the church was stolen, constant prayers to God were offered. Yes, absolute restoration and deliverance from captivity are offered only on the altar of faith in God. Irrespective of the size and scope of the righteous' experiences of delay, denial, and the devil's deceptive dominance, there is deliverance just for the expression of faith and confidence in the Lord. When Peter eventually came to realized that every encroachment of the enemy does not necessarily suggest God's inability to safe, faith in divine deliverance is restored. The heaven still renders its abundant rain and divine deliverance when men wake up from spiritual slumbering.
