Tender Touch
“But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those
days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts;
and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
Jeremiah 31:33 NKJV

The interpretation of the ordinances of tender touch is significant to the wellness of every relationship. The law of reciprocity imposes definite responsibilities on each partner in any relationship, without which a shipwreck is made of most investments in promising love affairs. The relationship between God and His people is not isolated from the ordinances of tender care. However, a greater love from the loving Father redefines the level of commitment from the law of reciprocity to the law of reconciliation. The law of God is implanted in the heart of man, making commitment out of commandments rather than the hard reliance on compliance. With grace in the heart, man can extend God's new covenant to every social and spiritual relationships of life. A consistent commitment to the offering of tender touch, rather than the anticipation of tender treatment, can win the desired affection in any struggling relationship.
