Helping Hands

 “And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.” I Chronicles 4:10 NKJV

Reflecting on why Jabez passionately requested the helping hands of God, it was observed that he could no longer cope with both his hurtful existence and the hurt from the supposed helping hands of his mother and brethren. No doubt, the painful experiences from Jabez life existence made the mother christened him ‘sorrow’, apparently to warn many of his few associates and save them from preventable damages. Thankfully, Jabez never took these ugly reactions from family and friends personal…because he knew the source of the true helping hands. Many times, when we mourn only over the pains caused on us by our associates and acquaintances, we are totally oblivious of the pains from our existence and the embarrassment we are causing them. Whereas, by pursuing, persevering, possessing and practicing the helping hands of God, we become equipped to be the desirable and uncompromising channels of blessing to people within our sphere of influence.

Peaceful Pathway

The Lord be with you all. ” II Thessalonians 3 : 16 NKJV Truth be told, the pursuit of righteousness is simply and straightforwardly the following of the right pathway, not necessarily the safe, the polite, and the popular pathway. Little wonder Martin Luther King once said, ‘On some positions, Cowardice asks the question, “ Is it safe?” Expediency asks the question, “ Is it polite?” And Vanity comes along and asks the question, “ Is it popular? ” But Conscience asks the question, “ Is it right? ”’. Wrangled Way

  “ Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! They also do no iniquity; They walk in His ways. ” Psalms 119 : 1 - 3 NKJV There is no doubt that those who abuse the grace of God have little or no understanding of the concept of the narrow way. For  “ Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it ” ( Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭13‬-‭14‬).  The narrow way cannot be widened because it is not only strait , it is extremely wrangled.
