Wilderness Divorce
Failure of all parties to reach the same height of expectancy in every relationship often result in distrust. In times of difficulties or wilderness experience, the receiving parties may not be able to control their disappointments. Without external assistance, distrust in the relationship may lead to divorce. The same practice of divorce was experienced by the Children of Israel when they travelled for forty years in the wilderness. They have seen, heard, and tasted enough evidences about the plan of God; that Canaan land was a secured place of rest. All of them (who entered into the covenant with God in Egypt), except two, could not reach the Promise Land because of distrust. Lack of faith in the promises of God is a clear expression of denial of the existence of God. That is the reason why God cannot rely on outward confession of faith, without trials.
