Responsibilities in Potentials

"Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the Lord said to him: “You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed." (Joshua 13:1 NKJV) The entire chapter preceding the current declaration represents the human comparative assessment of the performances of Moses and Joshua. Without an inspired reflection above number senses, it is difficult to read little meaning to the disparity fact that Moses defeated 2 kings while Joshua defeated 31 kings. Con-textually, God's performance assessment has nothing to do with the numbers of kings defeated by these two great servants of the Lord, but has everything to do with how to respond to the challenge of their potentials, which are inevitably subject to depreciation.
