Ambitious Appearance
“Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18 NKJV https://www.bible.com/114/pro.16.18.nkjv The simple difference between performance and appearance is that the former assessment suggests objectivity and sincerity, while the latter is mostly subjective and insincere. While an objective assessment of personal conducts is good, people are often reluctant to provide it and sacrifice their good working relationships. Unfortunately, improvement in social, life and work performances with ambitious appearance becomes almost impossible, especially when self-assessment becloud the sense of a sincere assessment. Pride prevents the mind from receiving instructions, warnings and sincere admonition. Whereas, a humble soul (and not haughty spirit) is easily entreated to find and follow the path of righteousness.
