Wise Wait
“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!” Psalms 27:13-14 NKJV Reflecting on the diverse emotional outbursts of many respected political and religious leaders over the reported irregularities in last weekend’s presidential and National Assembly elections in Nigeria, I can see the uprising of sincere hearts ready to claim back the land from greed, wickedness, and all forms of oppression. Obviously, the land that is filled with greed and corruption is a land of the dead; and a delayed hope in any upright heart would make the heart sick, if grace for a wise wait is depleted. But believers who can sustain waiting upon the Lord will not lose hearts over any height of disappointment in this wicked worldly system.
