Stupid Sleep
“Consider and hear me, O Lord my God; Enlighten my eyes, Lest I sleep the sleep of death;” Psalms 13:3 NKJV Sleep is a gift from God for human rest, relaxation, and restoration of strength. But the psalmist declares that the gift in some sleep can be turned upside down into the realm of stupidity. The enemies or thieves often induced stupid sleep into their victims to create a window of least resistance, while embarking on their wicked operations. Therefore, the psalmist cried out to God “ Consider and hear me, O Lord my God; Enlighten my eyes ”. Jesus is God’s special Gift to humanity to deliver the soul from stupid sleep, induced by our entanglement with sin. When He said “ I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life” , it implies that anyone who has received the gift of salvation from Him can find the Way, follow the Truth, and be filled with Life from heaven on a daily basis.
