Responsible Reconciliation
“Turn us, O God of our salvation, And cause thine anger toward us to cease. Wilt thou not revive us again: That thy people may rejoice in thee?” Psalm 85:4, 6 KJV Responsible reconciliation is all about taking responsibility to return back into a fruitful relationship or friendship. Therefore, at the heart of the psalmist’ prayer ‘Turn us, O God of our salvation…and…Wilt thou not revive us again ’ is a deep acknowledgment of transgression and the people’s turning away from the presence of the Lord. It is called conviction of sin and repentance from reckless disobedience against the commandments of the Lord. ‘Turn us, O God of our salvation ’ acknowledges the futility of all human rehabilitation efforts. No one is capable of saving himself from the captivity of sin and wickedness.
