True Obedience

Have you ever submitted to the will of an authority, but later felt like you are on your own during the implementation of that will? When all, including the one at the centre of the authority, disowned or withdraw their supports for any course of action; the actor's decision to continue with the course will require urgent review. True obedience is therefore far from "call and response", using the example of Jesus' submission to the will of the Father. That the Son of Man learnt obedience by His experience at the Garden of Gethsemane is quiet revealing. It was the will of the Father to sacrifice the Son, because of Father's love for the world; but the choice of the cross is totally the Son, because of Son's love for the world. True obedience stay consistent to the end, inspite of the unforeseen circumstances; even when no support is received.
