Night Naught
“Behold, bless the Lord, All you servants of the Lord, Who by night stand in the house of the Lord!” Psalms 134:1 NKJV
When Daniel and his three Hebrews found themselves as slaves in the palace of Nebuchadnezzar, their predicaments could have been regarded as a night stand for naught. They were free from all forms of supervisory check on morality and theology by the priests, prophets, and parents. Yet, the scriptures has it that “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself (Daniel 1:8)”. Little wonder he was able to secure the Lord’s night vision when he needed it most “Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven (Daniel 2:19)”. In all our life’s experiences, engagement and exposure that may appear as a night naught, there are potent visions and divine revelations for those who retain their stand with the Lord and the understanding of His promises.
