Good Gospel
“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”” Romans 10:14-15 NKJV
If the words of a tale bearer are like tasty trifles, the gospel in the mouth truth bearer must bring gracious goodness. Little wonder, only wise people share these glad tidings of good things. When the scripture says to Joshua “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses (Joshua 1:3)”, it wasn’t a declaration of 100% promise to irresponsible souls. The good news or gospel is actually the declaration of 100% peace, promotion, and preservation to responsible souls, who would accept the escape route from punishment, penury, and perdition. Unfortunately, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?“ is more of a burden to preachers than the sinning population. This is because preachers without godly lifestyles and truth cannot bear good gospel. For in “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”, the good gospel of peace is borne solely by beautiful feet. Therefore, the truth bearers or preachers of the good gospel are those whose daily lifestyles lift up Jesus Christ both in deeds and in truth; and not just the tale bearing of tasty trifles.
