True Testimony

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.” John 16:13-14 NKJV

While Jesus was holding brief for the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of truth, we know that Jesus is the truth personified. Also, it is necessary to note that the most important assignment of the hour was His crucifixion, and it was time for Him to leave the disciples for the consummation of the redemption plan. Notwithstanding, the Helper (Holy Spirit) remains the perfect Connector and Comforter of all believers with the true testimony: the name of Jesus holds all power, all authority, and all wisdom. Everyone who truly knows the name has been triumphant in the battles of life. Even in the Old Testament, it is incredible to underscore how David connected with the true testimony about the name of the Lord. “Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” (1 Samuel 17:45). He knew that all boasting of Goliath was on the basis of physical strength and targeted at defiling the true testimony. Whereas, in this blessed dispensation of grace, we are readily distracted by the fake testimonies of physical strength, political power, financial sagacity, and social influences; while throwing away the undeniable confidence in the true testimony. Even today, the Holy Spirit still relates the true testimony about Jesus to all believers; we just need to give Him more attention than listening to the voices of detractors and deceivers.
