Gracious Glory

Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭9‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What a man knows, can do, and does have represent the metrics of his greatness; and no one can contest why these metrics are the common definition of the meaning of life. Even in pursuit of the counsel of God, many believers are easily confused and distracted by the interferences or prevalence of these great glories, especially when they appear to be in parallel to the fulfillment of the divine counsel. The reality is that everyone needs the manifold mercy of God everyday to stay focussed on the true meaning of life. “So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy” (Romans‬ ‭9‬:‭16‬). And the moment we realized that life is really not everything about what we know, can do, and do have; and that it is strictly about the scriptural revelation “that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth”. Knowing God and making Him known in every man’s daily devotion, discipline, and declarations represent the gracious glory and the primary essence of life.
