Potent Praise

“In God (I will praise His word), In the Lord (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The reality of generational shift in the knowledge of God and His relevance in our daily lifestyle is non-negotiable. While the difference in Gen X and Gen Alpha is obvious, the fundamentals are not different from the biblical revelation, as related to the cause of the generational shift among the children of Israel in the promise land, after the death of Joshua: “When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel” (Judges‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬). Isn’t the ‘who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done’ the same dilemma of generational shift today? While many are quick to claim the knowledge of God on the basis of their knowledge of men and their manipulations, the psalmist declared “In God (I will praise His word), In the Lord (I will praise His word)“. The praise of God’s word must come before the manifestation of His works. Otherwise, believers are easily deceived to praise the works of men with its attendant fear and intimidation; while failing to trust God and His words. Until our children can truly see how we model the knowledge of God and His works through potent praise, the dilemma of generational shift in the manifestation of God’s presence persists.
