Marvellous Mercy

 “Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me. But You, O Lord, be merciful to me, and raise me up, That I may repay them.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭41‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When William L. Clay says “This is quite a game, politics. There are no permanent enemies, and no permanent friends, only permanent interests”, he sounded like the psalmist inspiration: No permanent familiar friends, and no permanent envious enemies, only permanent marvellous mercy of God. While David had the experience in Ahitophel, and Jesus Christ had the same experience in Judas Iscariot, frequency of believers’ experiences on the subject-matter is not news. What will always be news for different individuals is how the marvellous mercy of God is being treated, as life happens. Unlike the psalmist who focussed on repaying the mercy of God, many people often pick offense and are ignorant of the Sovereignty of God, through the interchanging activities of both enemies and friends. Whereas, in all of life’s circumstances, privileges, and opportunities, God brings into play the plug of His marvellous mercy for sustenance, strength, and service for glory.

Peaceful Pathway

  “ Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. ” II Thessalonians 3 : 16 NKJV Truth be told, the pursuit of righteousness is simply and straightforwardly the following of the right pathway, not necessarily the safe, the polite, and the popular pathway. Little wonder Martin Luther King once said, ‘On some positions, Cowardice asks the question, “ Is it safe?” Expediency asks the question, “ Is it polite?” And Vanity comes along and asks the question, “ Is it popular? ” But Conscience asks the question, “ Is it right? ”’. Wrangled Way

  “ Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! They also do no iniquity; They walk in His ways. ” Psalms 119 : 1 - 3 NKJV There is no doubt that those who abuse the grace of God have little or no understanding of the concept of the narrow way. For  “ Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it ” ( Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭13‬-‭14‬).  The narrow way cannot be widened because it is not only strait , it is extremely wrangled.
