Divine Delights

 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.” Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If God only led His children along the expressway, almost everyone would opt for the autopilot option with little or no interference. But in reality, the way to the promised land is often laced with potholes, speed bumps or breakers, and regular detours. And in every sweet fellowship session, believers get to acknowledge their confidence in the Lord’s delights on the way. A focus on the Lord’s delights helped Joshua and Caleb to choose a completely different path, compared to the other spies who were sent to assess the promised land for the children of Israel. Likewise, whenever the divine delights become the righteous’ single pursuit in life, family, career, and ministry, he sees nothing in potholes, speed bumps or breakers, and regular detours. Oftentimes, believers’ steps and stops in pursuit of the revealed will of God are designed as part of the prerequisites to understand the larger picture. And God is always happy with those who equally delight in paying attention to the details.

Peaceful Pathway

  “ Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. ” II Thessalonians 3 : 16 NKJV Truth be told, the pursuit of righteousness is simply and straightforwardly the following of the right pathway, not necessarily the safe, the polite, and the popular pathway. Little wonder Martin Luther King once said, ‘On some positions, Cowardice asks the question, “ Is it safe?” Expediency asks the question, “ Is it polite?” And Vanity comes along and asks the question, “ Is it popular? ” But Conscience asks the question, “ Is it right? ”’. Wrangled Way

  “ Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! They also do no iniquity; They walk in His ways. ” Psalms 119 : 1 - 3 NKJV There is no doubt that those who abuse the grace of God have little or no understanding of the concept of the narrow way. For  “ Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it ” ( Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭13‬-‭14‬).  The narrow way cannot be widened because it is not only strait , it is extremely wrangled.
