Peaceful Petitions

“Then Eli answered and said, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.” And she said, “Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.” So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.” ‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬


The story of Hannah shows that powerful portions in life do not guarantee peace and satisfaction. Despite the favour in the receipt of double portions from Elkanah her husband, she always remained sorrowful and dejected until the wilful engagement in peaceful petition. No doubt, Samuel was given to her as the product of a peaceful petition before the Lord; rather than the pursuit of powerful portions from Elkanah, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord”. While powerful portions are evident testaments of facts, peaceful petitions are believers’ statements of faith in the place of prayer. Like when Hannah left her prayer room, ‘and her face was no longer sad’, those who truly wait upon the Lord receive strength to stay calm and undisturbed by the proud disposition of powerful portions. Surely, prayer is the key to the throne of heaven; but faith in the hearts of its seekers unlock the door of peace and satisfaction in life. Unlike the hurtful gunning for the products of hate, pride, and selfishness, believers are called to make peaceful petitions to the Lord; and those who truly call are guaranteed an answer of peace.

Peaceful Pathway

  “ Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. ” II Thessalonians 3 : 16 NKJV Truth be told, the pursuit of righteousness is simply and straightforwardly the following of the right pathway, not necessarily the safe, the polite, and the popular pathway. Wrangled Way

  “ Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! They also do no iniquity; They walk in His ways. ” Psalms 119 : 1 - 3 NKJV There is no doubt that those who abuse the grace of God have little or no understanding of the concept of the narrow way. For  “ Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it ” ( Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭13‬-‭14‬).  The narrow way cannot be widened because it is not only strait , it is extremely wrangled.
