Low Law
“Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.”
Galatians 3:21-22 NKJVhttps://www.bible.com/114/gal.3.21-22.nkjv
While the Good Friday truly reveals the goodness of God, it also underscores the low status of the law - the confinement of the Son of God into the blackness of darkness in order to save the world from the judgement of sin. Truthfully, law embraces morality and sets the standard for good relationships in life. Obviously, those who are religiously committed to the keeping of its tenets are bound to reflect the traces of godliness in their lifestyle. The only problem is that the best of the goodness of man is unacceptable to God, simply because it is incapable of restoring the deadness of sin with the life of righteousness. Actually, and in the absence of vain deception, the knowledge of the law more than nothing advances the imprisonments of the soul of man; and brings it more quickly into the judgement of God. Thankfully, those who believe the finished work of grace through the promises of God have access to life abundantly and eternally.
