Decisive Devotion

“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.”

‭‭Daniel‬ ‭6:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

While diligence in business is no doubt the responsibility of any man in search of excellence, devotion to God is the only source of security against total loss of investment. The pursuit of excellence without making provision for the “pull him down (PhD)” syndrome in life’s engagements, work/family administrations and business executions is like investing in a network of divisive devotions. Thankfully, Daniel pursued excellence with a distinguished mindset. Even the PhD forces around him could not fault him with any trace of deceptive devotion or spot any area of weakness in his lifestyle of honesty, good character and dedication to service. So, they opted to create an imaginary conflict of devotion to either his God or king Darius. Unfortunately for them, Daniel knew that the secret of excellence in life is not in the power/position of an earthly king; but in the promotion from the heavenly King. Therefore, the pull him down strategies on a righteous man with decisive devotion to God always pull heaven down towards a new realm of excellence in his life’s engagements.
