Pleasing Petitions

“Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.”
‭‭I John‬ ‭3:21-22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In agreement with an unforgettable high school introduction to economics, the reality of life and the desires for career, professional and family accomplishments have been truly consistent with the theory of insatiable needs of man. Everything is desirable in life, but the non-realization of all of man’s desires has always been the cause of judicial segregation, racial discrimination, social reclassification, political manipulation, etc. Even at home and in small family settings where mutual fellowship is expected, diversity is often treated with disrespect. Whereas, the scriptures here and everywhere affirm that in God’s economy, human needs are satiable. “And whatever we ask we receive from Him”, if our petitions are pleasing to God. The converse is true: If we do not receive all that we ask from God, it implies that we do not submit a pleasing petition. Unfortunately, the heart of man is mostly focussed on petitions while ignoring the need to please God. But for those who truly desire the pleasing of God in all of life, family and ministry, their petitions are rarely asked before granted. Oh for grace to truly live life sincerely for the pleasing of God who truly knows the sincere petitions in the heart!
