Love Lifestyle

“And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭12:30-31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/mrk.12.30-31.nkjv
The response of Christ to the scribe’s question on the greatest commandment of all shows that loving God is greater and deeper than knowing about God and His commandments. After Christ’s acknowledgement of the scribe’s wisdom and understanding of the priority of love, He said “You are not far from the kingdom of God”. Like the deferring scribe’s position on the interpretation of the law to the position of either the Sadducees or Pharisees, many religious people in life struggle with divergent views on different matters of life. But if loving God becomes the living lifestyle of everyone, it would be easier to accommodate these divergent views without compromising our call to a total love for God. And just as God is patience as we struggle to learn how to please Him, everyone needs the patience of God as well. After all, the priority of maintaining the love lifestyle in all relationships is the pleasing of God alone rather not the pleasing of ourselves.
