Wise Watching

““But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly...Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭21:34, 36‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://bible.com/114/luk.21.34,36.nkjv
Those who have the privilege of watching over other people, especially at home, workplaces, the fellowship of like precious faith, and including own children know how easy it is to unconsciously throw caution into the wind. If the heart is intoxicated with either strong drinks or the over-possessing influences on other people on the ‘dos’ and ‘donts’ according to St. Right instead of the prayerful influence of the word of God, would it really matter to God if the offender is believer or unbeliever? Therefore, in order to keep the sensitivity of the hearts of His disciples alive, Jesus admonished all who care for the coming Day of the Lord to “take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with...”. Watching unto talking to others alone in order to influence positive change has the tendency of weighing the Watcher down; but watching unto prayer is capable of saving all parties from the strategies of the enemy. After all, anyone who must rescue a sinking fellow on the sea of despair and the dredge of unrighteousness must not be seen struggling with the tides.
