Kiss Killing

“But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭22:48‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/luk.22.48.nkjv
During the betrayal and arrest of Jesus at Gethsemane, the multitude on the murdering mission were categorized into three, including the follower of Jesus, the non-followers of Jesus and the servant of a non-follower. While Jesus appeared to excuse the servant of a non-follower, He asked the other two sets of people an appropriate question. To the non-followers, He asked ‘why do you chose to arrest with a sword?’ And to Judas - a follower of Jesus - He queried ‘are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?’ Although Jesus did not wait for the answer from those who came to arrest - it was an hour of darkness, there was no particular response to why Judas chose to betray with a kiss. Kiss is comely to followers and friends in any relationship and it is the outward expression of love and intimacy. However, it is deceitful when friends and followers choose to kill with an outward kiss, while a club or sword is hidden within a garment of fellowship. Unfortunately for Judas, Jesus is determined to get arrested by His non-followers, with or without his betrayal kiss. The betrayal just killed the opportunity to obtain deliverance from the running battle against the deceitfulness of riches, when he preferred a kiss to a confession.
