Self-centred Services
““Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts, who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.””
Luke 20:46-47 NKJV

The interpretation of the design for human dominion only within the context of a selfish desire to consume or devour preclude man from being a reliable disciple. Therefore, Jesus said to His disciples “Beware of the scribes”. Whether at home or within the community, self-centred services are concerned about personal satisfaction rather than the desirable public services. God appeared not really bothered about the publicans and politicians because they are aliens to the gospel of salvation and deliverance from the depravity of sin. Although sinners are not spared from condemnation for not accepting the offer of salvation, scribes and religious servants on self-centred services will receive greater condemnation for abusing the offer of salvation. If we cannot proof our service to the Lord in services to humanity and the people in our lives, we may have only responded to our inner craving for self-centred services.
