Great Gospel

“Now the man from whom the demons had departed begged Him that he might be with Him. But Jesus sent him away, saying, “Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you.” And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭8:38-39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://bible.com/114/luk.8.38-39.nkjv
The experience of the demon-possessed lunatic of Gadarene teaches that it is only sane minds that cultivate the sense of shame. After his freedom from demons, he was constrained to expressed the willingness to follow Jesus; instead of the possible embrace of fellowship with the people in the city. Although the actions of the people to the miracle leading to his freedom from demon-possession were discouraging, it does not undermine the great things God had done for him. Instead of accepting the shame-inflicting strategy of the devil and keep quiet, Jesus admonished him to “Return to your own house (comfort zone), and tell what great things God has done for you”. Apostle Paul declared elsewhere that “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation...”. Irrespective of the perceived sense of receptiveness or otherwise of our audience, perfect understanding of the power of the gospel always find the right medium of expression. While the world is free to hold on to the gory trials in people’s past, the redeemed of the Lord is always free to embrace the power in the glorious testimony of the great gospel to others in his present life and in the future.
