Gracious Glory

“But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep; and when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him. Then it happened, as they were parting from Him, that Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—not knowing what he said.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:32-33‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/luk.9.32-33.nkjv
The craving for the glassy glory from wealth, position, and earthly achievements, instead of cultivating an intimate relationship with God, is no strange phenomenon to every sincere believer. Even when the body finds attendance in religious activities, the heart often find attraction to the demands for the glassy glory, just for recognition and relevance in the presence of man. The experience of Peter, James and John during a privileged fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and before the revelation of a better glory, was nothing different. “But...when they were fully awake, they saw His glory...”. The new realm of glory during the divine encounter on the Mount suddenly provide a quick release from the sticky attractions to the glassy glory of their world. Obviously, without a privileged revelation of a gracious glory in every believer’s fellowship activity, there can neither be an experience of joy and gladness in serving the Lord; nor in appearing at His presence. But whenever anyone is privileged to resist all distractions to the Saviour’s invitation to the mount of transfiguration, he gets positioned face-to-face with the revelation of the gracious glory of his future inheritance with Jesus. And the real revelation of the gracious glory of believers’ inheritance with Christ always provide a reliable release from the glassy glory of worldly attractions and affluence.
