Smoke Screen
“Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are— the Holy One of God!” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him.”

Arguments on jurisdiction are nontrivial tools for delay or denial of justice in any court of justice. Likewise in most home affairs, workplace relationships, and social engagements, progress and prosperity are screened by futile deliberations with this demon-inspired segregation strategy. When the unclean demon was confronted with the truth personified, he appealed to the demonic sense of jurisdiction by the query “Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are— the Holy One of God!”. Unfortunately, when demon inspires smoke screen in order to evade justice in all contending matters and relationship of life, believers often lose their patience and the fruit of the Spirit while responding to smoke screen confrontations. Why would Jesus affirm a segregation screen with Nazareth while on duty in Capernaum? Or why would Jesus be blinded by a season screen about God’s final judgement of demons and the wickedness of men when someone else is attacked and seriously in need of deliverance? Therefore, Jesus deactivated the smoke screen with a silent rebuke to the demon, and not to the afflicted man, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”. It implies that in all contending matters of life, a watch out for smoke screen with a silent rebuke of the activities of demon in the secret place engage the supernatural manifestation of God in the open place.
