Friendly Fiend

“To grant us that we, Being delivered from the hand of our enemies, Might serve Him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:74-75‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/luk.1.74-75.nkjv
Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Zachariah extended his deliverance from the hand of the salient motives behind most of man’s reasonable preoccupation and services to humanity. While occupied in the temple service with utmost dedication until his old age, it was difficult for anyone to uncover the venom of the deep-seated loneliness and fear. Apparently lost in mere sense of religious obligations, Zachariah could not experience the total freedom of serving God without fear of what the future holds for faithful workers. Likewise, many believers can be readily busy with religious, secular, and social obligations to God and people in their lives; and yet without the true freedom from fear of what the future holds. The truth is, it is easier for victims of this friendly fiend to lay hold on carnal obligations in the name of love services. Whereas, the enemy prevents the heart from aiming for the zenith of true love, holiness, righteousness and the actual fulfillment of God’s purpose. Gladly, sincere faith in the finished work of grace sets the heart free from the friendly fiend of fear in order to serve consistently in holiness and righteousness.
