Significant Something

“But from those who seemed to be something—whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows personal favoritism to no man—for those who seemed to be something added nothing to me.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/gal.2.6.nkjv
If significance in life is truly limited to the accumulation of material wealth and an improvement in position or status, the pursuit of a life driven by corruption, conflicts and competition makes the ultimate sense in this world. But there seems to be something deeper and higher than the status-based achievements in life. To Paul the Apostle, this base achievement in life is frankly nothing, compared to the singular pursuit of the purpose in the heart of God for every human existence. Unfortunately, many homes, fellowships and associations that are built on godly heritage are easily hijacked by the status-based ‘nothing’. Those who care for godly change and the expansion of the kingdom of God through parenting, preaching, and professionalism know that little or no life can be positively influenced or impacted by an advanced status or material affluence. Sincerely, ‘something’ whose influence fade away with the passing of time, tenure, and taste is nothing. But the grace of God brings salvation and the pursuits of kingdom purpose that last beyond the threshold of the present terrestrial space. While those who make little of their birthrights, like Esau, in pursuit of the sensible something always mourn at last for a possible takeback. And those who truly seek the significant something in life have nothing to lose, compared to those who set out for the pursuit of status-based nothing.
