Overt Overseers

“When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the LORD, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel. And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the LORD: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever toward Israel.” Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.” ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭3:10-11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/ezr.3.10-11.nkjv
The work of a supervisor is only easy to lazy-minded people; while fellows who understand the weight of responsibility would appreciate the opportunity of a genuine break. In the kingdom work, supervisors pay more attention to the owner of the work than the people on the field of work. Otherwise, what the eyes of supervisors see can mislead them away from the reality in the heart of God. When the Levites that were assigned to supervise the building of the temple of the LORD “stood in their apparel with trumpets..with cymbals, to praise the LORD”, it was obvious that their minds were not set to assess the quality of the people’s work. Willingness to serve the Lord is always a sufficient assessment for good leaders and supervisors. The fruits from the labourers’ work are based on the collective confidence of the people of God in the Creator’s faithfulness to the prosperity of His vineyard. Whereas, covert expressions of the leaders’ personal feelings about experiences at the private home and public workplaces may be more responsive than overt expressions. Obviously, overt overseers are men of mixed emotions; but the praises of the Lord in all situations of life is comely at all times.
