Boundless Burst

“Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women and the children also rejoiced, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard afar off.” ‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭12:43‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/neh.12.43.nkjv
The stretch of pain and gloom into the night has a worrisome picture of endlessness, segregation, and loneliness. And when the flash of a man’s financial, family, and field failures stirs freely, it is not difficult to understand the depth of his agony and regret in life. We all keep, albeit unwritten or hidden, dairies of failures and disappointments to loved ones. However, not many are often drawn to the reality of their failures to regret the brokenness of an expected sacred relationship with God. The Jews who returned from captivity had a taste of their failed escapades at the dedication of the repaired walls of Jerusalem. And after the dedication of the walls and a rededication of their lives, they had a boundless burst...for “God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women and the children also rejoiced, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard afar off”. Yes, gloomy days can linger into the night; but there is always an evident burst of joy in the morning, for those who care to repair the broken walls and rededicate their lives. No matter how long or deep the broken bones of our lives had been buried, there is still an hope of a boundless burst of life at the Cross for all.
