Bondage Breakers

“Now that which was prepared daily was one ox and six choice sheep. Also fowl were prepared for me, and once every ten days an abundance of all kinds of wine. Yet in spite of this I did not demand the governor’s provisions, because the bondage was heavy on this people. Remember me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people.” ‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭5:18-19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/neh.5.18-19.nkjv
The concept of market deregulation is the introduction of policies that enables free entry of productive market participants and the investment of free resources. Otherwise, the servicing of strict government regulated markets attracts heavy penalty on the people, especially when operational costs are more than the productivity of the system. Unfortunately, political leaders in developing and under-developed economies are often less concerned about the impacts of the cost of governance because of their self interest. Whereas, it was recorded concerning the policy of Nehemiah as the governor “Yet in spite of this I did not demand the governor’s provisions, because the bondage was heavy on this people”. Those who are motivated to operate a system of government (either at home or in the society), public institution, and private enterprises for the personal gain from the office will readily build bondage, instead of breaking them. Nehemiah served as governor for over 12 years without drawing the governor’s provisions from the people, because of the fear of God and his preference of service to servitude. Obviously, the plight of every developing or under-developed economy will readily change for better, if citizens are more concerned about their personal value addition to the system as a worthwhile service to the Lord. In actual sense, only bondage breakers can boldly pray “Remember me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people”.
