Egypt Escape

“Then all the men who knew that their wives had burned incense to other gods, with all the women who stood by, a great multitude, and all the people who dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying: “ As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we will not listen to you!” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭44:15-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/jer.44.15-16.nkjv
Just as a summer vacation away from the normal lifestyles and residences brings a refreshing relief, a chain of work routine with periodic breaks gives better room for improved productivity. Unfortunately, reverse productivity is the case with breaks in fellowship with God. Judah and Jerusalem have been severely plummeted because of the Jews’ consistent pursuits of breaks in order to worship strange gods and the queen of heaven. And rather than working out repentance and reconciliation away from the judgment of God, the remnant revolted and preferred permanent escape from the presence of God. After all, things seem to be working out with improved material prosperity, since their change in allegiance. Whereas, God said the idea of an Egypt escape was a familiar fraud. The prolonged battle for fairness between the desired freedom for the flesh and freshness for the soul reveals the insincerity in the heart of man. Why did the remnant Jews escaped to Egypt with prophet Jeremiah, if they are sincere with their desired permanent break from God. It just revealed that human being are naturally comfortable with the religious and an empty presence of God, as long as His preferences remain in dormant mode. “[You are free to ride along, but...] As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we will not listen to you!”. Insincerity with the need of rest for the soul makes a deceptive place of permanent abode out of an Egypt escape.
