Written Words
“And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, “I am confined, I cannot go into the house of the LORD. You go, therefore, and read from the scroll which you have written at my instruction, the words of the LORD, in the hearing of the people in the LORD’s house on the day of fasting. And you shall also read them in the hearing of all Judah who come from their cities.”

The power of the written words is often underestimated by the writer until the hands find a book or journal. Besides the influence of the written words in the life and affairs of receivers, the written words provide indirect comfort and healing to wounded soul of the writer. Even when inspired by wicked rage and resentment, wicked acts of violence are temporarily calmed through the silent moment with the fainted pen. And where inspired by the Spirit of the Lord, prophet Jeremiah was able to manage the painful moment of incarceration without losing his purpose for living. And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, “I am confined, I cannot go into the house of the LORD”. This was the deep-seated feeling of Jeremiah that wouldn’t have found a constructive expression without the privilege enabled by the written words. To all the writers in our world of Facebook, Twitter, whatsapp, and all forms of electronic media, be inspired by the Spirit of Lord as the feelings fly. The written words are capable of locking up the rotten rage of wickedness in every lonely world, if inspired by the Spirit of the Lord.
