Hardened Hearts
“And it happened, when Jehudi had read three or four columns, that the king cut it with the scribe’s knife and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth. Yet they were not afraid, nor did they tear their garments, the king nor any of his servants who heard all these words.”
Jeremiah 36:23-24 NKJV

The statements of right or wrong are clearly written in the word of God for humble hearts. To these surrendered hearts, the word of God is sharper than two-edged sword for the destruction of evil vices and the construction of good ways. Whereas, hardened hearts are stony and stubborn. Instead of the words of God piercing through the heart of the king, the king’s heart pierced the scroll of God’s words to the fire on the hearth. Likewise, all hardened hearts are insensitive to all available warnings in the written words until they are totally consumed. In reality, the garments of pride and arrogance cannot be easily torn by the hardened hearts with the intercession of helping holy hands. Irrespective of the status of hardened hearts (either in every home of feast or hall of fame), only the bended knee delivers some humble hearts. Unfortunately, inspite of the potency of the written words and bended knees, some hearts will turn out to be more hardened than the stroke of grace through the piercing sword of the Spirit.
