Precious Possession
“Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They make you worthless; They speak a vision of their own heart, Not from the mouth of the LORD.”
Jeremiah 23:16 NKJV

The only word that can ever bring calm into chaos is the word of the Lord. It turns darkness into light; and enlightens the heaviness of the heart with the heavenly harmony. Words from prophets and priests can provide some encouragement and comfort in times of distress and pain, but true comfort comes from the Lord. Unfortunately, human minds are tempted to be driven and manipulated by loathsome encouragement from prophets and priests; while the hearts are deprived of the rhema from the Lord. Therefore, the Almighty God will often say to His delights “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you”. Whereas, the common concern about how to correctly discern the word of the Lord among the myriads of words from different prophets is not complicated: God’s words appeal to the heart of His delights rather than impress the head. To both the speaker and the listener, every procession from the heart to the head is suspicious, misleading, and a mere sold-out of the righteous’ intimate possession. The inspired counsel of God overrides the head confinement of both the speaker and listener, while engaging the heart. Obviously, every head knowledge without heart discernment is a worthless adventure and a waste of the delights’ precious possession.
