Perpetual Pain

“Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts...Why is my pain perpetual And my wound incurable, Which refuses to be healed? Will You surely be to me like an unreliable stream, As waters that fail?” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭15:16, 18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/jer.15.16,18.nkjv
The preciousness in the blessings of peace from the Lord is apparently found in perpetual painful experiences. When people say darkness reveals the brightness in the light, it shouldn’t be hard to understand why perpetual pain also reveals the preciousness of peace. But then, Jeremiah’s questions are popular experiences of the human minds: it is difficult to find comfort in painful experiences. Yet, prophet Jeremiah only neglected the previous fellowship experience with God through the entrance of His word. Unlike the transient excitement of the head through the affluence of wealth, the word of God brings stable joy and rejoicing to the heart that retains fellowship with God. The word of God is the reliable source of peace in times of trouble. The secret therefore: find the word of God in every ugly situation in life. Someone once provided a practical coinage that always worked for him, by saying “Thank God, it could have been worse!”. Finding the word of God always reveals His abiding presence, which the enemy often struggle to cover with the blindfold of pain. Whereas, perpetual pain can never remove the precious peace in the possessive presence of God in the affairs of His children.
