Sovereign State

“Who is the wise man who may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD has spoken, that he may declare it? Why does the land perish and burn up like a wilderness, so that no one can pass through? And the LORD said, “Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice, nor walked according to it,” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭9:12-13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/jer.9.12-13.nkjv
A sovereign state earns the right of self-governance and self-determination of its citizen’s social welfare. And a democratic state will thrive to empower the people to elect delegates who could be held responsjhible for good governance. But it appeared that the decadence and destruction in the state of Israel was beyond the concern about governance or a violation of the state’s constitution. Therefore, prophet Jeremiah queried ‘Why does the land perish and burn up like a wilderness, so that no one can pass through?’. And the LORD said, “Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice, nor walked according to it”. It implies that sovereign state is expected to be subjected to the laws of a Sovereign God. The sovereignty of the people at all levels of governance (family, fellowship, and fieldwork) is perilous when it can only boost of making good sense out of people without producing genuine saints out of them.
