Status Service

“Then said I: “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” But the LORD said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭1:6-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/jer.1.6-7.nkjv
The youthful age is commonly accepted to pride itself on being the arsenal of power and vigour. Therefore, when the Lord said to Jeremiah, “Do not say, ‘I am a youth’”, He had no problem with the use of the base word “youth”. However, the problem has everything to do with the basis of claiming the “youth” status. If Jeremiah had said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am an aged”, God’s response would probably be “Do not say, ‘I am an aged’”. Invariably, believers’ services to God should not be on the basis of status. Status service pride itself on human ability, preparedness, and capabilities; but the spirit service will always wait for the inspiration of the Lord before any engagement. The scriptures say “For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides you, Who acts for the one who waits for Him”. Therefore, anyone that delights himself only in what God is able to do has a simple life of waiting on God’s Spirit rather than wetting the human status.
