Sincere Searching
““I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ To a nation that was not called by My name...Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, And the Valley of Achor a place for herds to lie down, For My people who have sought Me.”
Isaiah 65:1, 10 NKJV

Religion is often said to be based on sanctimonious routines, compared to a relationship that is powered by a sacred romance with God. Just like any human relationship that lacks intimacy, God is apparently frustrated by shallow regiments from callers, who derive pleasure in ‘asking’, ‘seeking’, and ‘knocking’, without the desirable patience for intimate relationship. God is more interested in our ‘dwelling in His presence’ than our ‘doing for His pleasure’. Unfortunately, the ‘doing’ Christians always have misguided expectations for fruitfulness, based on their clearly acclaimed excellent coordination of strategies. Whereas, little coordination of human strategies brings more excellent breakthroughs in life, family, and ministry. For Judah, no human counsellor will recommend Sharon and the Valley of Achor for serious-minded and pasture-looking Herdsmen. But God does recommend Sharon and the Valley of Achor to those who have lost the appetite to trust in their own understanding. It is only the ‘dwelling in His presence’ that can place God’s pleasure ahead of human preference. When the righteous searches the presence of God more than His presents, He finds the desirable pasture in His pleasure.
