Selfless Service
““The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound”...But you shall be named the priests of the LORD, They shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast.”
Isaiah 61:1, 6 NKJV

Self-serving passion appears to work better in public service than selfless service disposition. Then, the serving direction and discretion are censored in order to ensure commensurate returns to the servant. However, a self-serving passion is profit- driven while a selfless service disposition is purpose-driven. Unlike a purpose-driven life, a self-serving disposition negatively affects career choices, project partnerships, sacrificial submissions, etc. Whereas, life’s achievements are simply God’s endowments for the empowerment of people and race larger than self, if myopic disposition does not come in the way. Where a serving spirit influences servants of self, servants of God are only inspired by service Spirit. Believers who spend the bulk of their life’s worth (time, talent, and treasure) on the benefits and the development of self should be wary of living a wasted life. The scripture here admonishes “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me...To preach good tidings to the poor...” who are less privileged than ourselves. Obviously, there are more rewarding glory in selfless service ministrations than in self-serving disposition.
