Sharp Sword
““And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, And made Me a polished shaft; In His quiver He has hidden Me.”...Thus says the LORD, The Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, To Him whom man despises, To Him whom the nation abhors, To the Servant of rulers: “Kings shall see and arise, Princes also shall worship, Because of the LORD who is faithful, The Holy One of Israel; And He has chosen You.””
Isaiah 49:2, 7 NKJV

The danger in charismatic ministrations is the attraction to the fellowship with man more than the expected sacred romance with God. Those who have learnt humility and quietness in the presence of God through the privilege of rejection from the fellowship of men know the balance between charism and christlikeness. Since the Redeemer of Israel is more interested in qualifying the called than calling the qualified, true servants spend quality time in the secret place than the devoted time for the open place. Unfortunately, the winning strategies of the wicked is the proliferation of the secret place with worldly entertainment and unrestricted social networking. Yet, Christ is calling His faithful servants to a daily lifestyle of setting self apart for a sacred romance in order to consistently ‘whet the edge’. Sharp sword prefers the quietness in the sheath of God to the lousiness in the services to men. The converse is always the burden from the pride of charism in ministries, rather than the blessing through the power of christlikeness.
