True Tidings

“O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! Behold, the Lord God will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/isa.40.9-10.kjv
One of the major mockeries of the Christian faith is the lack of consistent appetite for spiritual mountaineering. Spiritual strength is easily sapped from normal engagement with the necessary elements in believers’ work, social, and family life. Unfortunately, the enemy of the soul has designed and improvised several alternatives to spiritual refreshment in social entertainment. And almost all of the present world’s social engagement are unmistaken recipe for disengagement from the throne of grace. Consequently, children of God are easily turned distributors of discouragement, envy, hatred, backbiting, and unhealthy competition, even under the guise of faithfulness in christian services. However, as it was in the days of the Prophet Isaiah, Isaiah 40 brings the message of hope to incapacitated believers. It is the ability to escape to the high mountain that breeds the capacity to bring good tidings. Therefore, true tidings imply waiting in the presence of the Lord for weighing the presents of the Lord to His people.
