Welfare Concern
"For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If
anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in
this book." (Revelation 22:18 NKJV)
Any reader of the book of Revelation understands the challenge with consistent interpretation at every instance of God's revelation. The sincere struggle with interpretation can provide different acceptable revelations, depending on the circumstances of the people of God. For example, the revelation of Jesus Christ to the church in Ephesus (a romance Lover) was different to His revelation to the church in Smyrna (a fearless Lord), and each of the other churches. Notwithstanding, deliberate misinterpretation can be motivated by selfish or personal gain. Whereas, God's revelations represent serious warnings targeted at the deliverance of unwary souls from future damnation or plagues. Therefore, there is no consideration for selfish interest of individuals in God's welfare concern for His church.
